Hi! I'm Monk and my life is kind of Crazy...
Firstly a huge thank you all for visiting our blog.

Now on to introductions! We don't want anyone to feel like strangers here so let me tell you all about myself.

I'm Monk, a five year old Akita Inu. Once a rescue, I was welcomed into the home of Alison Skillin and my then mentor Bear, who turned my world upside-down for the better. How so I hear you ask or think. Well, I became an apprentice to the best job in the world in my opinion, I became an Assistance Dog. A lot has happened since I took the vest, including the passing of my mentor, advocacy and charity work, life changing events for my handler Alison and new friends. We felt it was about time to start sharing our waggy tales and Knowledge about Assistance Dogs in the UK in one easy to access spot. This has come with a lot of support from friends made in the Assistance Dog community some who might even drop by for guest Blogs.

This Wonderful Human is my handler Alison Skillin.

A household name when it comes to Advocacy for assistance dogs in the UK, as well as being the Scottish Advocate for the Assistance Dog Council. We have helped countless people and even changed signage and rules all over the place more can be read in our fabulous blogs.
We've appeared on a number of media platforms from radio to magazine, and are always happy to talk about Assistance Dogs in the UK to anyone wanting to learn.
